Join a late morning departure from Tromsø to learn the basics of cross-country skiing in Arctic surroundings. After guided instruction, head out on skis through snowy trails. Then enjoy warm drinks and cake by the fire and meet our huskies before returning to town.
This tour starts in Tromsø city center with a scenic 50-minute drive to our basecamp in Breivikeidet. Upon arrival, your guide will greet you and provide all the equipment you need: skis, poles, boots, thermal suits, winter boots, mittens, and a hat.
Before setting off, we’ll teach you the essential skills — how to move on skis, how to put them on, how to fall and stand back up. Once you're ready, your guide leads you out into the Arctic landscape. You’ll follow quiet snowy trails with views of the Lyngen Alps and the coastline.
After the ski tour, you’ll be welcomed into a lavvu (Sami tent) where you can warm up by the fire with hot drinks and cake. There’s also time to visit our dog yard, home to around 80 huskies who love meeting visitors. Finally, you'll head back to Tromsø by bus.
