Experience a daytime dog sledding adventure near Tromsø in Tamok Valley, sharing a sled with another guest and steering a team of huskies across Arctic terrain. Includes hot meal, dog yard visit, and all necessary gear. Transport not included.

Join a guided dog sledding experience at Camp Tamok, just outside Tromsø, surrounded by the dramatic winter landscapes of Norway’s Tamok Valley. This tour is tailored for guests arriving by their own car and begins with a warm welcome at Tamokhuset.

Once at the camp, you’ll be split into two groups. One group gears up and receives instruction before heading out for their dog sledding ride, while the other group visits the dog yard, meets the huskies, and enjoys a hearty hot meal. After the first group returns, the roles switch, giving everyone a full experience of both activity and relaxation.

Each sled is shared between two guests, who take turns as driver and passenger. The trail is mostly flat, but basic physical fitness and balance are needed to safely steer and assist the sled when needed. The setting is ideal for newcomers seeking an engaging yet manageable Arctic adventure.

  • Take turns mushing and riding on a shared dog sled
  • Visit the husky yard and enjoy a warm meal in a scenic Arctic setting
  • All equipment provided, including thermal suits, boots, and gloves

Meeting time is 10:50 at Camp Tamok, Tamokveien 1374, Øverbygd (from 15.03.2025 onward). The experience lasts from 11:05 to 14:25. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Minimum age is 7 years, and children must be accompanied by an adult. This tour is not suitable for pregnant participants. Participants should be in good physical condition, as some sections of the trail require pushing the sled or steering on narrow paths. Inform the provider of any dietary restrictions ahead of time via email. Weather-appropriate layered clothing is recommended. Goggles and a scarf may also be helpful.
